Chosen Trade

Street cobbler - fewer can be found as compared to the past and makes an income with his one and only skill. Most often, the younger generation do not want to take over this trade as it is tedious with little income.

I chose a book: Roasting by Kathy Gunst and developed more on my topic on murders where I decided to do something about cannibalism.

Iskandar Jalil Exhibition

The National Gallery Singapore was hosting an exhibition on leading Singapore ceramicist and Cultural Medallion recipient Iskandar Jalil’s career. Kembara Tanah Liat (Clay Travels) in the exhibition title refers to his life-long dialogue with clay and belief that the material is imbued with the identities and characteristics of the land from which it comes. 

 

This exhibition explores the practice of ceramic art, challenges the conventional view of it and underlines its place in the history of modern art in Southeast Asia and beyond.

Imagine your love ones fighting at war while you are home looking after the kids and the house, what do you wish for the most? During WW2, radio broadcast and newsprint are the only source that will bring them news of the war. The Berkeley Times, a newsprint published in 1943 for British housewives during WW2 to give them a sense of hope. A hope that the war is ending and that their love ones are coming home to be with them. From evacuation to victory battles, this newsprint consists of optimistic contents, pictures and household advertisements.

Every year, there is a lack of blood donation for pets. Pets who are waiting for transfusion are taking more time to recover and/or even result in death. This project aims to create a platform for owners to know about blood donation as well creating convenience for them by implementing a blood bank truck.

Coming up with a virus (Cerwelagtis) and defining the symptoms of it while finding a treatment for that virus. Cerwelagtis causes the head to be inflamed and it is caused by the constant lack of rest, stress and fear. It usually occur to people age 18-35 as they're the group who experience the highest stress level.

Treatment are done in a packaging (with instruction manual) with a brand identity to sell.

When we visit a country, the first thing we search for are “what to do”, “places to go”, "events happening in”... and keywords such as “explore”, “hikes”, “shopping”, “events” come into the mind while we search.

What are the take away that people want to gain from visiting a country? Do we simply just travel to countries as a holiday or do we want to be involve in the city we are visiting?

 

Jurong Bird Park

Building a captivation device that will help to guide visitors during their visit to Jurong Bird Park. This captivation device comes in 3 languages and it informs users of show times, highlights, weather and time. It can also detect your surroundings and update you on exhibits that are near you while showing you an overall view of Jurong Bird Park as well.

World Street Food Congress

World Street Food Congress is an event held by Makansutra where they aim to celebrate and promote food culture from all over the world. Not many people know of this event despite being interested in experiencing different food culture however they do not know where to find them without travelling out of Singapore.

The bicentennial is a time for us to reflect on how we have evolved from a place with a geographically strategic location, to a people with a unique DNA.  The Singapore Bicentennial in 2019 marks the 200th anniversary of Sir Stamford Raffles’ arrival in Singapore – a key milestone in our rich and storied history. But our story did not start in 1819. It actually began in 1299 and Each of us is in some way connected to and intertwined with others in this history.

This project explores ways of branding online clothing store through the combination of both design courses in the school:  interior design and communication design. Together with 4 other people, we put together a concept to brand Pomelo with a physical store that includes many digital interactivity.
